What a great experience I had at the Grubb Institute’s experiential
learning event entitled PASSION Purpose
Potency: Releasing Untapped
Resources In People And Organizations. It
was held November 9 – 16, 2011, in Hazlmere, England.
There were 43 of us living in an intentional community for 8
days, 11 Participant Staff Co-Creators and 32 Participant Member Co-Creators. We established a temporary organization. We came together from England, Wales,
Ireland, Holland, South Africa, Israel, and the US.
Our common connection was a “desire to take up our different roles to work to the purpose of the
event, to develop a spirit of enquiry into the lived experience of leadership
and followership in an emergent co-created organization in order to seed our
day to day roles with the resources to respond passionately, purposefully and
potently to what is being called forth from leaders in our evolving and
transforming World.”
My three take-aways for me in regard to organizational
systems and leadership:
- Clear role boundaries and two-way communication are essential “for the sake of” the organization.
- As a leader, connect to “source” to be a “re-source”; the spiritual connectedness of the leader.
- Clarity of the role one is playing in an organization and what is needed “for the sake of” ” the organization.
Personally, for me I realized …
- A deep sense of connection to my life of 60 years and excitement for all that is yet to be!
- The Global Clergy Leadership Initiative is a worthy vision and I now know people in the world who are ready to assist its creation -- one step at a time.
- I have been blessed with a unique set of talents, abilities, education, experiences, friends & family, and I honor God by being me.
- A profound awareness of love and appreciation for my wife Betty.
- Gratitude for the support of friends and colleagues to participate in this wonderful event!
In the new year of 2012 I look forward to the next step in
creating a Global Clergy Leadership
Initiative.
